The Triage: India's Decade of Execution.

India has the policy on three existential pillars: renewable energy, water security, digital sovereignty. The next decade decides whether it executes. A forensic 101-slide read with six concrete policy recommendations.

Summary

India has achieved scale. 283 GW of non-fossil capacity, third globally. 81% rural tap coverage. ₹10,372 Cr for the IndiaAI Mission. 38,231 GPUs onboarded, 12 semiconductor fabs approved. On every existential pillar — renewable energy, water, security, digital sovereignty — the policy is in place and the headline targets are being hit.

The headlines are not the constraint. Execution is.

Green hydrogen target: 5 MMTPA by 2030. Operational today: 0.3 MMTPA. The Jal Jeevan Mission has connected 81% of rural households but only 75% are functional. Per-capita water sits at 1,513 m³, already below the Falkenmark stress threshold. Coal still supplies ~74% of generation while India builds AI compute on the same grid. Each gap is its own story; together they shape the binding constraint of the decade.

This 101-slide deck, V2 May 2026, sets out three things.

1. The verified anchors across renewable energy, water security and digital sovereignty, sourced against post-January 2026 government and international data.

2. The convergence where the three

pillars now meet: the data-centre–energy nexus, smart-city integration, green digital infrastructure.

3. Six concrete recommendations for the policymakers and institutions that will be judged in 2030 against what was promised at COP.

Why read it

Written for boards making AI investment decisions in regulated industries, compliance heads tracking the DPDP enforcement clock, GCC operators sizing the data-centre power problem, and the institutions turning policy ambition into operational reality.
